We love a festival and so when we Lollibop, the all new kids festival, approached us to get involved we didn’t hesitate. We thought about all it is that we love about festival ourselves and set about putting a creative project together for kids that embraced the festival spirit as we know it.
It had to be creative, fun, colourful, anarchic, non perscriptive and above all as far as we were concerned it had to be free. Lollibop came with a price like most other festivals but they were as committed as we were to providing interesting things for kids to do without a price tag.
It was a huge undertaking that involved some wonderful students and amazing friends, samples donated by our favourite brands, piles and piles of fabrics and ribbons and hours and hours of late night desigining and sewing sessions. Armed with suitcases full of customised clothing from Olive Loves Alfie, rolls and rolls of bunting and much excitement we set up our Dress Up And Be Happy Camp
Over the next 2 days our friend and photographer Nicola Hippisley took photos of over 300 children who embraced our project with unrivalled enthusiam. After hours and hours of editing we tried to email each and everyone who took part. We know we have missed some of you so please do email if you haven’t heard from us and we will send pics out to you.
A very big thank you to Tatty Divine for giving us a box of treasure that the kids made into Peace jewellery with the help of our friend and jeweller Vicky Davies.
