Tickets For Christmas…oh perfect idea!

We were lucky enough to be at the inaugral Wilderness Festival earlier this year.  A highlight of the summer Wilderness celebrated the arts and the great outdoors whilst making you feel grateful for Englands green and plenty.

The Wilderness Festival took popular festival an culture and mixed it up with added hipster glamour.  A dreamy family weekend in the most magical of festival playgrounds wtih rolling hills, woodlands and  lakes, we loved it all.  The choice of banquets from Sam & Sam Clark from Moro, Skye Gyngell of Petersham was a tough call but it was Thomas Hunt’s banquet offering of venison from the estate either roasted for 16 hours or seared and served carpaccio-style that was the talk of the field.  Olive couldn’t get enough of the lake swimming choosing to submerge herself via the rope swing with a loud whooping each time whilst  I look towards the firelit teepess, spa and hot tubs on the side of the lake.  Away from home with a great big dose of fresh air it doesn’t take the long for ruddy cheeks to appear and for lost pillow feathers adorning children’s wake up hair to be replaced by twisted unkempt locks finished with leaves and twigs.  Going from party to party we discovered short films, philosophical discussions and naked life drawing.  With parking so close to the camping we did DIY glamping with a trolley loaded up with patchwork blankets and cushions from Olive Loves Alfie, a cooking stove, melamine cups and plates and our wind up gramaphone.   In true festival spirit glamping should be for eveyone and not just the elite and this is the festival to make it happen.

Tickets for a little bit of your own Wilderness would make the perfect family christmas present this year.  The booking office is ready and waiting.  See you there next summer.
