I have a very long list of dreams for 2012 so no change there. I might not achieve all I set out to but I live to dream and I actively encourage Olive my daughter to do the same. It makes my world goes round and gives me focus. I realised that Olive was very much of the same mind when she asked one of her best questions “Mummy what is my purpose?”.
When The Telegraph Best Small Shop Awards 2012 was launched late last year I had my heart set on winning the award for Best For Children. Last week the short list was announced and I was totally and utterly thrilled to know that Olive Loves Alfie was up there alongside some of the most respected independent shops in Britain. Looking forward to a night out and the awards being announced at a champagne reception in February I can promise you that we will report back.
Olive Loves Alfie would be an empty dream without customers who love what they find when they walk through the door. That doesn’t just mean discovering wonderful new products but it is the joy of walking into a local independent shop where you know you count!
We are lucky to be on Stoke Newington Church Street, one of the most spirited independent streets in London. Keep watching our blog for our up and coming shop keepers guide to Hackney.
Your votes speak volumes so a heart felt thank you to everyone of you who took the time to vote for us.
Fingers and toes very tightly crossed with lots of love.
