Last Wednesday as part of the launch night of N16 Lates our shop window was transformed into a shadow puppet theatre by the wonderful puppeteer and artist Justina Kochansky. It was an inspired and brilliant festive evening all round that shouted our what a great community we are part of. At Olive Loves Alfie we put out a row of old school chairs on the pavement, piled up boxes with popcorn, cooked up some rather wicked mulled wine on our camping stove , filled goodie bags which were reportedly “the best goodie bags we have ever had”, introduced Jess our new hairdresser from Powder Puffs & Pin Curls to some of our wildest little customers, and Olive made her busking debut too!
Inspired by the epic snowfall of 2009 Justina created a magical story that was set on our very own Church Street.
If you missed the show last week Justina will be making a 2nd appearance this Thursday 13th December as part of a special family evening on Church Street. A new five minute show specially devised for us ‘Olive Loves Christmas’ will be performed at 6.30 and again every 20 minutes until 8pm. Just two minutes away at the Fire Station on Church Street you can join in the Christmas Carols, see the most festive dog win an award courtesy of our new neighbour Paws & Purrs and wait for Father Christmas to put in a very big appearance.
