Win A Family Ticket Worth £250 To The Wilderness Festival
Festivals are a big part of our summer and we love nothing more than being at the debut of a new festival. This year our pick is The Wilderness Festival in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, August 12-14th. Created by the team behind The Secret Garden Party it’s definatley the one for us. Celebrating culture, art, music and the great outdoors it looks set to be a great family experience. With music from Mercury Rev and Laura Marling, theatre from The Old Vic Tunnels and communal feasts being cooked up by Moro (our favourite restaurant) I think they have it all covered.
For a chance to win a family ticket email firstname.lastname@example.org with your favourite summer holiday childhood memory. If you can put your hands on a photograph from the holiday too all the better. The winner will be announced on August 1st. We are going to be there so hope you will be too…good luck.
Dress Up And Be Happy
‘Dress Up And Be Happy’ was an inspirational kids project that was launched at Lollibop the new kids festival in London August 2010. Inspired by Woodstock and taking the festival feeling of free spirits, music and summer, Olive Loves Alfie created a magical space for kids to play with their unique sense of style.
The woodland dressing up camp was wrapped up in bunting made from frayed vintage denim, Katvig and Marimekko fabrics. The tree trunks were tied up with oversized ribbons and an open air photographic studio was created with patchwork quilts from Danish home wares brand Rice.
A beautiful selection of vintage clothing, Olive Loves Alfie’s customised festival clothing and specially designed accessories were displayed on clothes rails or piled high in vintage suitcases that were hidden amongst the trees. With irrepressible invention over two anarchic days the kids created a joyous array of improvised outfits and exuberant dressing-up styles themselves.
Here are a selection of a few of our favourite pics. We have emailed lots out already but if you see a picture of your child that you haven’t received please email us and we will email the image to you.
